Our history:
The green sauce was created in 1990 by Alma Ruiz, an entrepreneurial woman originally from Huehuetenango, Guatemala.
The name originates from a restaurant where carnitas and chicharrones were sold.
Ruiz never liked CHIMICHURRI (Rioja-based sauce made from vegetable oil, salt, vinegar, garlic, dried ground chili pepper and aromatic herbs, which are used to compliment roasted meats. So she decided to create her own recipe, in order to make it low fat.
The process of creating the sauce was carried out together with a nutritionist, where each ingredient of the recipe was studied in detail to be able to make it without chemicals or artificial preservatives while achieving a perfect fusion of flavors.
